There is no reason why life shouldn't be fair.

The only reason we've come to believe this is because those at the top of the social hierarchy led us to believe that this was truth. Regardless of what every religion has taught us. This is probably why we have televangelists who make six figures a year and own a yacht. To sell religion to the masses when Jesus would've flipped tables inside the facility it's being filmed (Matthew 21). Government is a needed system in order to ensure the continued survival of the species. It's not different than a tribe or a city-state. It's when we let money changers get involved that all of our lives are in jeopardy because we're sold off to the highest bidder for a small amount that isn't even worth purchasing dogshit over. Capitalism is going to fall harder that communism did the day the wall came down. It only delayed the inevitable. It can't sustain itself with automation becoming a thing and now AI. Something new has to be thought up as an answer to this problem. Will it be flawed, could be, probably will be eventually, but right now the current social system just isn't working anymore.
