I hate how people rant about scientists debating what determines sex. Like they act like scientific studies or evidence are set in stone. Before I continue, here is a basic diagram of how the scientific method is supposed to work:
Just because we currently believe that the determiner of biological sex is through which arrangement of 23rd chromosomes a person has, doesn't mean that is the case. We now know over the span of several decades that there are intersex conditions which makes things less black and white. Those who discount them as mutations have no place within the scientific community since science is about expanding our knowledge as human beings, not to exclude them. Gtfo of the community.
Social scientists and psychologists still follow the above method as well. Why do you think they release updated versions of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) for which it's currently on its fifth edition (DSM-5). Anybody who has taken their studies of human culture could tell you that different ways of living outside of the Western sphere have different classifications of gender and gender identity. Namely Indian culture and Native American culture, but these get neglected likely due to a "not white, not right" racist mindset.
Seriously, shut the fuck up, and let the scientists do their jobs. The scientists who aren't swayed by their political, cultural, or religious bias anyway.
